Twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Alison Granucci is a poet, writer, naturalist, and photographer living in the Hudson Valley. In 2005, she founded Blue Flower Arts, a literary speaker’s agency, the first in this country to represent poets, and upon retiring in 2020, began to write poetry herself. Her debut collection of poems, Separation Is What Binds Us Here, is forthcoming from Tupelo Press. Alison’s work is featured in RHINO, Tupelo Quarterly, Pangyrus, Terrain.org, REVEL, American Poetry Journal, Connecticut River Review, Plant-Human Quarterly, Subnivean, About Place Journal, Emerge Literary Journal, EcoTheo Review, and Humana Obscura, among several others, as well as the anthology Little By Little the Bird Builds its Nest. Her essay “Teacher Bird” was a nonfiction finalist in phoebe: a Journal of Literature and Art. Among her honors, Alison was an Artist-in-residence at Trail Wood, homestead of naturalist Edwin Way Teale; and she received the first annual Vicious Circle Award from The Poetry Society of New York for her contributions to the world of poetry. Alison sits on the boards of the Hellbenders Gathering of Poets for environmental writing and the EcoTheo Collective. She is co-editing an anthology of new bird writing with J. Drew Lanham.
